Crafty learning opportunities available this winter

This winter the Quilt Museum has plenty on offer to keep you crafty. Book your place on one of our workshops for adult learners. Make traditional Japanese quilted crafts run in collaboration with City of York Council, try ‘Machine Embroidery’ or have a go at ‘Embellished Felt Flowers’ with our in-house sewing tutor. Why not come along to Community Quilters’ to sew and socialise? Or attend ‘Stitch for your Life!’ a talk about the History of Embroidery. Remember to look out for our regular Gallery demonstrations with our friendly volunteers showcasing their stitching skills.

For younger visitors and families there is a choice of Christmassy workshops. If you like machine sewing you may enjoy making a ‘Toy Sack’ or a ‘Cracking Christmas Bird’. For Tots to Tens there is a festive Fabric Fun for Families a drop-in session on Wednesday 22nd December.

The Quilt Museum will also be at the Jamia event at York Minister on Wednesday 8th December, pop along if you can and sew a patch for a community banner.
