Coverlet made from hexagons of printed cottons arranged in diamonds and triangles, with borders of squares on point and triangles. The coverlet has been hand pieced over papers. The outer borders are thought to be a later date. It was made by a member of the Shirt family, a wealthy family from Wiltshire.
