A blue cotton Damascus coat which has corded quilting all over with zigzags, diagonal lines and cross shapes. Coats like this were made in Syria and across the Turkish Empire and were worn as a loose robe during visits to the bath house. Such visits were social affairs that lasted some time and it is suggested that the coats were worn after the bath when people were relaxing.
