Six silk mosaic patchwork chair seat covers with original handwritten and printed paper templates still in situ. Four of the six covers have a central star shaped medallion with embroidery embellishment, with one featuring a square on point and the last one a central windmill patchwork block made from triangles. The fabrics are a mixture of plain and woven silks, Some with metallic threads and some of which have hand embroidery, with pieces possible recycled from use as fashionable dress. One piece contains metallic woven ribbons with the words ‘No Popery, No Slavery’, which is thought to date from the time of the Glorious Revolution in 1688.
