A contemporary quilt made using the slashed technique, which involves layering up fabrics then stitching and cutting into the layers. The manipulation of the fabrics through folding, twisting, slashing and stitching help to create a three dimensional effect. The use of metallic and iridescent fabrics in this technique also means the piece looks different and the colours change depending on where the viewer stands.
This piece was displayed as part of the Quilt Museum and Gallery’s opening exhibition in 2008, ‘Quilts in Time: Journey from Bed to Wall’.
