Baby’s white linen corded quilted jacket with cross over front and fastens with pair of ties, both of which are still intact. The corded quilting stops slightly short of the hemline, suggesting this tiny garment was made from an existing garment or piece of quilting such as a man’s waistcoat front. The seams for the sleeves are covered by a decorative herringbone stitch, and the neckline on the reverse of the jacket is cut very deep. The edges are finished with a binding. The corded quilting has not been inserted from the reverse as usual, but must have been included during the process of sewing the channels as both the front and reverse are the same.
