This small frame coverlet is one of a number of quilts made by the family of Myfanwy Pryce (author). This coverlet is made from printed cottons with a central panel of a floral design and borders of oblongs, squares and triangles of various cottons in checks, stripes and floral prints.
The coverlet is one of two that is reputed to have been made in the family timeline of Lydia and Hugh Davies, who were given her Uncle’s drapery shop at No. 9 Pier Street, Aberystwyth. It is likely that this coverlet, and the other family piece made at the same time (Small Frame Top), was made from remnants of fabrics left over from their shop.
