The central square has blue cross stitch inscription which reads "Mary Robson her work done in the year of our Lord 1801". Hand quilted in an early quilting pattern that consists of a border, infill and central medallion. The quilting patterns include swirls, zig zigs which are infilled with leaves, clamshell, slowers and rainbow-like arches, square diamond infill and a central medallion with swirls, leaves and flowers. The medallion looks quite free-style rather than symmetrically arranged.
