Crazy patchwork quilt made from silks, velvets and silk taffetas, with a lace frill border. The crazy patchwork is embellished with embroidery stitches and floral designs and embroidered text reads 'Queen Victoria's Jubilee June 21st 1887, 1837 - 1887'. There are also the embroidered initials of the maker 'E.M.L 1889'.
The quilt was made to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria by Ellen Mathilda Lacey, possibly for her bottom drawer as she married Herman Korf in 1890. The materials were probably scraps left over from her father's tailoring business.
The Quilters' Guild Collection is held by The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles.
