This crazy patchwork coverlet has been constructed in various different sizes and shapes of block, and embellished with white feather stitches over the joins of the patchwork. The blocks are separated by gold borders and the coverlet has been tied with red thread. Many of the fabrics are recycled from men’s ties.

Barbara Bailey was an enthusiastic quilter, teacher and a devoted founder member of The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles. It is thanks to Barbara and her generous legacy that The Guild was able to set up the Quilt Museum and Gallery in 2008.
