Hexagon patchwork top, made from various different dress and blouse fabrics organised in hexagon rosettes. It was made by Ada Denton of Mirfield, West Yorkshire, who started the coverlet around 1910 and worked on it for many years. The top encompasses a good range of dress fabrics spanning several decades, including Ada's wedding dress material in ivory silk, a blue patterned fabric from a Garden party outfit, a striped material from a fancy dress outfit as a “deckchair”, a brocade from a favourite long dress, and various fabrics from the compulsory apron of the day. Ada suffered badly from Arthritis, and so the progress on the patchwork was slow, but she was helped by her daughter Henrietta (known as Etta).
