Made from dark blue satin weave cotton backed with a cream glazed cotton, this wall hanging is another piece made by the iconic North Country quilter, Amy Emms. It has been hand-quilted with a central medallion made up of scissors motifs, and a border of feather cable. Both of these designs were commonly used as favourites by the maker.
The piece was made by Amy Emms to be presented to Deirdre Amsden, the first ever president of The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles. It was presented to her at the Guild AGM in 1982 in recognition of her contribution.
The Quilters' Guild Collection is held by The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles.
