Unfinished hexagon pieced top made from various printed cottons, with a central rosette surrounded by hexagonal frames, but the majority of the piece has a random arrangement. The fabrics date from the 1820s to the 1840s, and the surviving papers, which have been saved but are stored separately are from two distinct time frames - the late 1820s and the 1840s. Many of the newspaper hexagons are from The Morning Herald and deal with the Catholic Question. It is possible there were two phases of construction for this top.
