Square blocks quilt, with an uneven 9 patch block alternated with unpatched blocks of printed or plain cottons, surrounded by a frame of striped fabric. Some of the fabrics date to the 1780s (such as the small floral sprig design on the dark ground). This piece contains a good variety of different printed designs and demonstrates a range of different dye techniques. It is quilted in the squares with a flower motif.
