Hexagons mosaic patchwork quilt with a border of cotton floral sprig furnishing fabric that still retains its shiny glazed surface. The cottons in the hexagons are small scale dress prints, and the hexagons are organised in rosettes, with a central hexagon style medallion arrangement. It is backed with plain cotton and has been hand quilted. It was made by Ann Westover in 1860 and the centre hexagon is monogrammed along with the date in tiny red cross stitches. She married George Hitchcock on March 6th 1862 and was from the Taunton area.
