Red, blue and white pieced-over-papers top. It is made from Turkey red and shirting fabrics and the design is one of six-pointed stars. It was made by a woman in an isolated adn therefore self-sufficient Northamptonshire community. The fabrics were precious and were kept for further use - offcuts from shirts were made into coverlets for children's beds and those from bright cotton dresses were made into quilts for the big beds.
