This usual piece uses many folded strips of silks, ribbons and brocades to create a very three dimensional log cabin block, making each one very thick and the whole piece very heavy. The pieces have been hand sewn onto thick foundation fabric of sturdy plain and striped cottons, and the squares were then hand sewn together.
