Applique coverlet featuring shamrock, small circles and fold and cut shapes in green cotton applied to a white cotton background with a feather stitch. The coverlet is hand quilted with a chevron pattern and the backing for the coverlet is made from faded feed sack material.
This coverlet was made by Mary Gordon Mundell, wife of a Shepherd David Mundell, who lived and worked in both Scotland and Ireland. It is not known where the coverlet was made, but it would have been one of these two places, and their time in Ireland must have influenced the design for this coverlet.
The Quilters' Guild Collection is held by The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles.
