This quilt has a central field of three columns made of squares on point, and every eighth row is composed of black velvet squares. The quilt is hand-pieced, and has chained herringbone, feather stitches, and long and short rosettes hand-embroidered into the quilt. The silk fabrics are multicoloured, and the velvet is black. The cotton wadding and silk back are fastened together by blue ribbon bows.
