This hand-pieced coverlet is composed of two sizes of tailor's suit sample pieces, arranged in rows, the smaller rectangles in the centre and framed by the larger rectangles. The wool, cotton, and mixed fabrics are brown, green, black, and grey in colour, and whilst most are woven samples, some have printed stripes and dogs-tooth designs. This coverlet was made by Nicholas Lambert, a Tailor from Ryde, Isle of Wight.
