The floral embroidery at the centre of this log cabin coverlet is surrounded by small log cabin blocks made from silk and ribbons, and edged with a green silk frill. It has been backed with black cotton and tied at intervals to keep the two layers together. It is interesting to note that some of the log cabin blocks have been placed the wrong way round so there are some gaps to the overall sunshine and shadow arrangement.
