Frame quilt with the centre made from square blocks divided into four triangles. This centre is surrounded by frames of larger quartered square triangles and squares on point. The fabrics are plain and printed cottons. The quilt has a cotton wadding and is hand quilted with an all over chevron design. The quilt probably came from the donor’s father, Ronald Grey Porter, b. March 1910 in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Ronald was one of four brothers. He recollects that it may have belonged to his Aunt Nellie (uncertain if it was just owned by her or also made by her).
The Quilters' Guild Collection is held by The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles.
