Made from a variety of different colours and designs of printed cottons, this log cabin quilt uses Turkey Red as alternate central squares. The wide range of fabrics used on the front suits the pattern well, as log cabin relies on small strips of fabrics which have a similar tone but do not have to match exactly.
The log cabin blocks have been arranged with the dark sides together, to create the impression of dark and light crosses. The back of the coverlet is made from Turkey Red and white cotton in a strippy design.
