This iconic Sanderson Star top was made from green and white cotton and machine pieced by Mrs Elizabeth Coulthard of Cowshill. The patchwork top has been marked with traditional North Country quilting designs in blue pencil by Mrs Heatherington of Wearhead, a pupil of Miss Sanderson (the originator of this star design and well known Quilt 'Stamper').
The image (left) shows a close up of the central star design.
