This double-sided patchwork coverlet shows evidence of having been made up by different people or at a different times. The front side is made of a panel of small hand-stitched patches of Turkey Red squares surrounded by hexagon-shaped lozenges. This hand-stitched panel may have been made earlier as it has been machine sewn to the Turkey Red paisley border. The reverse has been entirely machine stitched and is made of rectangular-shaped patches, including some fabrics with striking art nouveau designs. There are patches on the reverse using the Turkey red paisley fabric and the whole coverlet has been roughly quilted by hand.
The Quilters' Guild Collection is held by The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles.
