Quilted petticoat made from blue silk which has faded to a green colour. It has wool wadding and a glazed wool lining fabric, and dates from the mid 18th century. The quilting patterns include zigzag lines and flowers in waves acriss the skirts. An open fronted 18th century dress would have showed off the quilting designs and fabric of this beautiful. silk petticoat
