Crazy patchwork coverlets assembled in large square blocks from silks, velvets and ribbons, and embellished with gold feather and herringbone embroidery stitches over the seams. The two identical coverlets were originally all in one piece, and were cut up to make two single bed covers in the 1950s, when a burgundy coloured valance was added to each piece.
