Yellow cotton sateen wholecloth top in three panels and white cotton backing made up of four panels all machine sewn together. The white backing has been marked in blue pencil with quilting patterns. The two pieces of cloth have been machine sewn together along one of the long sides along selvedge edges. This created the leading edge where it would have been stitched to the quilt frame. The quilting designs are typically North Country and it is possible the piece was marked in Weardale as it may have come from Alston, Cumbria.
The Quilters' Guild Collection is held by The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles.
