This strippy quilt has a six red and five white cotton strips, with rows of red and white triangles between each main strip to give a ‘saw-tooth’ affect to the edges. The pieces are hand and machine stitched, and the edges are butted with one row of stitching.
The hand quilted patterns on this quilt include large leaf shapes and leaf and stalk motifs on the red strips, and wavy lines or worm patterns with feather infill on the white strips. The quilting motifs are typical of those used in the North of England.
