4th May - 1st September 2012
Formed in 1989, the European Quilt Association (EQA) aims to bring quilters from across Europe together to get to know each other and to exchange knowledge and skills. Representing over 60,000 members it also provides a single gateway for the rest of the quilting world who wish to reach as many quilters as possible.
EQA member countries include Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Each member country was invited to submit two pieces of work to celebrate the diverse lives and cultures of quilters across Europe. This exhibition unites all of these countries together in a celebration of patchwork and quilting at the Quilt Museum and Gallery, York.
