Dialogue is a lively and varied body of work from leading contemporary Welsh fibres artists. Ranging from thought provoking to light hearted, literal to abstract, this exhibition promises to inspire and engage visitors.
Drawing on each artist’s in depth knowledge of their specialised skills, a rich variety of 2D and 3D, works have been produced using a host of techniques from quilt making, stitch, machine embroidery, weaving, Shibori, resin work, print, paper making and film.
Fibre Art Wales was formed in 1999 with the purpose of providing professional advancement for contemporary fibre artists in Wales. The concept behind the group was to bring together like-minded artists to promote, educate and stimulate the public as to new developments and challenges in contemporary fibre art through exhibitions, workshops and publications.
As well as exhibiting, fibre art members work to commission, have won international awards and prizes and have their work included in many public and private collections worldwide.
