Turkey Red is an important part of the Story of Scottish Textiles, the method of dyeing having been introduced to Glasgow in the late 1700s. The vibrant colour and practical nature made it an ideal fabric for patchwork and quilting. The Quilters Guild has brought together a selection of striking heritage quilts from its collection showcasing some of the finest examples of the fabric’s use. These are on show at The Knitting and Stitching Show held at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh, 28 April - 1 May 2016.
The Quilters' Guild Collection is held by The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles.
