25th January 2020
In celebration of York Residents Weekend, local visitors are welcome to come and see a selection of items from The Quilters’ Guild Collection and explore the history of the crafts of patchwork and quilting.
Since closing the Quilt Museum and Gallery in 2005, The Quilters' Guild has concentrated on exhibiting its Collection at external venues across the country, but also shows a selection of items through monthly open days advertised on its website. This day provides an opportunity for York Residents to come by and see a selection of items from our Collection at our York based headquarters.
Our space is small so booking onto timed, hourly slots is important. The slots are:
10am - 11am
11am - 12pm
12pm - 1pm
Lunch break
2pm - 3pm
3pm - 4pm.
Please call us in advance to book, 01904 613242, or email curator@quiltersguild.org.uk and remember to show your York Card for entry.
Please note that access to the Great Hall is now through Trinity Church and not The Quilters’ Guild. Since the closure of the Quilt Museum we no longer occupy the first floor Great Hall, and our premises are on the ground floor only. The exhibition space is a small room - but there will be interesting textiles for you to see!
