Today at the Quilt Museum and Gallery we welcomed local textile artist Sandra Middleton who generously gave her time to demonstrate her unique techniques to visitors to our 'Made in Yorkshire' exhibition.
Sandra’s work is motivated by her love of colour. She dyes most of her own fabrics and threads and combines them using different techniques to create unique wall hangings and pictures.
Sandra demonstrated a selection of techniques using free machine embroidery. These included various ways of using up scraps of fabrics and threads to create new and unique fabrics which can then be used for bags, cushions, book covers etc.
Thank you Sandra!
