These beautifully worked shadow quilted slippers and matching bag are among the latest additions to the Quilt Museum and Gallery’s Collection. They were made as a wedding gift for Mrs Dorothy Aubin in July 1939 by Mabel Lawson, and were a treasured possession – evident by their immaculate condition.
The slippers will be on display in the Quilt Museum and Gallery’s forthcoming exhibition ‘Celebrations’, where visitors will be able to appreciate the exquisite workmanship and skill that went into their creation.
The Quilters' Guild Collection is held by The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles.
